Hello,
My mother is being “immediately discharged” at a behavioral health center but has not shown improvement and they cannot procure a placement for her afterwards.
She has cirrhosis, alcohol induced dementia, and cannot do any ADLs along with behavioral issues.
The institution threatened to call adult protective services on the POA if he does not pick her up by Thursday but there is no care plan in place.
Can they discharge a patient without a care plan? Especially someone with no feasible way to take care of themselves?
Can we tell them no and not be harassed by adult protective services? There’s no way someone with her conditions can come home to a man who leaves the house 10 hours a day and it be called safe right?
