Basically I have a 5cm lump in my breast, it was examined at Planned Parenthood. They referred me to a breast clinic to get an ultrasound, but the place doesn't take my insurance unless I'm referred by my primary physician. The next appointment they have is September 20th. It's probably not breast cancer, but on the off chance it is, I don't want to give it another month.
I called my insurance thinking they'd help me find something faster, but the person I talked to told me the only way I can get an ultrasound is through my primary physician and it's probably not worth switching providers since you don't know who has an earlier appointment.
Called primary physician back, they recommended going to the ER and being evaluated there. I would really rather not spend an entire day at the ER though (especially while covid numbers are rising again) since I'd be low priority. Called an urgent care that I saw does ultrasounds, they said that they will not do it there either.
Are my only options either go to the ER or wait a month to be seen?
