I know this question is kind of weird, but I’m hoping this is the correct community to ask. My boyfriend works in a hospital as an unlicensed but clinical staff member. He has recently started using, specifically cocaine. I’m worried for his safety and am always aware of a possible overdose. However, he says that if anything were to happen I shouldn’t take him to the ER at his place of employment, even though it’s where he has health insurance, because he thinks he would be fired for the instance. Would that be illegal? I would think so because it’s his confidential medical record and not an employer drug test, but I honestly have no idea.
