I've been interviewing for a new job. Generally speaking, I know that it makes sense to take advantage of my benefits before I leave my existing job. I know most vision plans only allow you to get either contacts or glasses, but I'm not sure what happens when you switch jobs mid way through the year.
Specifically, I mostly wear prescription contacts, and I also have glasses. I was thinking of getting an eye exam in the next week and using my vision insurance allowance on contacts. If I get this new job, I anticipate I would start at the end of July. Would I be able to use my same eye exam prescription and get glasses covered by insurance under my new job's vision insurance? Or can I only get contacts or glasses once per year?
