I'm a software developer at a large EMR company with some background in IT. I'm strongly considering moving into healthcare IT management as software development isn't 100% my love but I can find sparingly little information on this kind of career move.
How does the career progression in healthcare IT management work? I'm looking at masters programs in IT Management, in Healthcare Administration, and in Healthcare Informatics. I've found a sparse number of job postings and they seemed to look far more at IT management experience than they do for a degree. What's an entry point for this role? An IT analyst would make sense but I'd like to apply my developer/IT experience with a degree to skip over entry IT roles if possible.
