[Question - Insurance] How quickly do you get kicked off Medicaid when you report new income?

This might sound like a silly question, but I'm wondering how quickly you get kicked off Medicaid when you report new income? Is it immediate? Do you have coverage through the rest of the month or something?

The story is that I've been on Medicaid for about a year - I have gender-affirming surgery scheduled for August and in Illinois Medicaid is required to cover transgender healthcare. But I just got a new part-time contract job and will be making about double what I have been. So I'm assuming when I report this to Medicaid I'll get kicked off. The issue then is that my new job doesn't provide health insurance and I still won't be making quite enough to pay for a plan. So I'm wondering if there's any way I'd still be able to get Medicaid to cover that surgery in a couple months?

(I know the answer is probably NO, but it's so hard to reach anyone to speak with them directly, so I thought I'd ask here!)
