[question - insurance] accidentally paid for service twice. How do I resolve?

I got a claims statement from my insurance company, which showed my appointments, coverages and amount I still owed. I was able to pay the amount through the app, so I completed that.

Then a month later I got a statement from the hospital with different amounts and clustering of services, and I paid that on their site.

I’m a high risk pregnancy, so there were a lot of appointments that month, and I realized I overlapped some of these transactions, about $800.

I’ve called the insurance company, who say they already sent the money to the hospital. I’ve called the hospital, who can’t tell me they received the other payments, but that they it takes a long time to process them.

I’ve been battling this for 6 months. Is there any hope I’ll get my money back, or is it just lost in the system indefinitely?
