[Discussion] How much do you budget each month to spend on healthcare for the year (No HSA's involved) U.S.A.

I am single. I never put money into HSA's

I know how they work. But I'd rather keep my money liquid. As a single person, I needed to.

I'm middle aged now and my health issues are surfacing.

And I need to budget $500/month for health costs. (no less)

The problem now is, that many people were out of work for a long time during Covid.

And with that lapse in health insurance it will cost more to catch up on untreated health

First the benefits may not start for 90 days, then it could take longer to get an appt (assuming a person needs to see a specialist and isnt established).

So roughly 6 months out from initial start date of a job

Thats a long time to get one's health back on track.

I wish employers could have a benefit start date on the first day on a job
