[Question - Other] Medical debts duration? Family doctor help with substance abuse?

I didnt want to make 2 separate posts but maybe it would be ideal.

1. Do medical debts ever drop off? If so, how long after? (Such as all other debts seem to - CC debts, credit union debts, etc. all drop off between 3-7 years afterward generally, in my experience)

2. Can a family doctor assist with substance abuse issues (even lesser-known substances)? Either via advice, medication or other means?
