[Discussion] Occupational therapy assistant being used as an nurse/aid

So I am an occupational therapy assistant. I work in a rehab hospital since November. They just started hiring us COTAs and say its a "new program and learning experience " which is their excuse for the bullshit they have the 6 of us doing.. They are utilizing the 6 of us as aides and nurses. I've been asked to do bowel training and cathing which I refuse. I also am assigned rounding assignments and to do glucometers. Its ridiculous I was an occupational therapy assistant for 2 years prior to this and loved it. This is so ridiculous I am not supervised by an OT, I am on the nursing unit. I hate it. I am quitting soon but for the time being should I refuse to do glucometers to check patients sugar? I heard I could lose my license.

We believe this company is being paid to have occupational therapy assistants working in the facility. I do get made as an occupational therapy assistant but doing aid work!
