What’s the point in this plan if I have to pay out of pocket anyway? [Question-insurance]

TL;DR at the bottom

Does this even make sense? And if so what can I do about it? (insurance)

I started with a new employer in September and was enrolled in Blue Cross Blue Shield LA. Enrollment was done on tbx.360 and was confusing as hell with no one to really walk me through. I went with the Blue Saver plan because I was never taught how to navigate health insurance and now I’m stuck with a $2500/$5050 deductible for me and my wife. It’s 100% co insurance, $0 co pay and we’re paying $600 per month. Excited to finally have healthcare and potentially be able to get over my anxiety, I called a therapist. She called for me and was told by BCBS that I wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket for any of our sessions. After two sessions, she calls me to let me know I’ll have to pay out of pocket until I hit my deductible.

Tl;dr: I don’t understand why I’m paying $600 per month for my wife and I’s coverage when we have to pay $5050 in services before we can even use our health insurance. I’m apparently not eligible to make any changes to my plan because I haven’t had a major life event. I’m stressed, my anxiety is through the roof, and I don’t see why I’m paying for it if I’m still paying the out of pocket cost.
