[Question - Insurance] Recently hired, first time disclosing disability. How to evaluate my needs for reasonable accommodation? Also, insurance conundrum inside. Lapse of coverage?

Hello sweet beans,

My disabilities include occasional micropsychosis involved with overstimulation. BPD. Tardive Dyskinesia. And I just found out my cervical cancer I beat last year has come back worse.

I just got my NJ state health insurance for the struggling unemployed or underpaid. Took 3 months to get it situated. My new job only offers their own health insurance when you've been with the company for 90 days. The job only offers sick leave and vacation and personal leave after 90 days. I'm on day 1.

I don't even know if this is the right sub to ask, if you have better suggestions, let me know.

2 Questions:

  1. How should I evaluate what I need for reasonable accommodations? And how much should I disclose about my illnesses to HR?
  2. Insurance. Once I start receiving paychecks, I assume I will not be able to partake in the NJ state health insurance plan and I will be kicked. But without having the 90 days of employment, I will not be able to see a doctor for any of my serious mental conditions, nor be able to acquire documentation needed to prove my disability to HR (if they even need it). I have just moved into the state. Do I immediately lose my NJ state healthcare coverage once I get a job? I'm looking at a lapse in coverage here that I need NOT to happen.

Any advice appreciated, yous guys. I'll be looking up other subs to post this in.
