I won't go into extraneous details about it, but I'm currently battling a strange bill that I received from my provider after an extremely brief doctor visit.
I noticed that my insurance wasn't notified, and that I would get a large discount (almost 25% of the total) called a "prompt pay adjustment" if I paid within a few weeks.
They have messed up almost all of my bills in the past (including trying to bill me for times that I hadn't even gone in), so this immediately seemed suspicious. They aren't responding to my voicemails or emails about it, and it seems like they are offering me a discount to "shut up and pay"
Is this common practice? Has anyone seen this before?
