How do I deal with scummy practices by dentists and others?
I have the best health and dental insurance I’ve ever heard of in my extended family friends etc., but every time I see a dentist or doctor I notice they are always trying to double charge me and then when I bring up that I shouldn’t be paying anything for the services I’m seeking they make excuses and give me a condescending attitude. How am I supposed to go about getting the care I need without some jerk trying to just pull an extra $500 out of me for things my insurance covers 100%?
The latest dentist I went to, for example, split the root canal procedure in their treatment plan into “root canal” and “buildup” for a crown. If buildup necessary that’s part of the crown procedure and in fact was covered by a previous dentist as part of that procedure, but here they claim it isn’t covered and say it’s $300.
Is there anything I can say to get these people to stop ripping me off?
