Hi, a little bit of context. I am an international student in the US who just graduated from a US University. My university insurance ended and I am now working at an internship for next year which does have health benefits.
Due to the pandemic, I can't go to my home country to buy international insurance (cheap in India). Hence, my only option (as far I know) is to look into short term insurance plans (EVEREST, National General, UnitedHealthcare). I wanted to get a general idea of what people's experiences have been with such plans.
Are they a good option considering how cheap they are compared to my University insurance and their reliability in times of the pandemic (such as hospitalization if I get sick etc.). Also, are there any options I could look into that might help with my situation (non-citizen of US)?
I am really confused with this whole thing and any help or resources are appreciated. Someone told me to find a health broker but I am not too sure if that is a good idea either.
This seems to be a major issue for students like me and with very few resources offered by my university or on the internet. So hopefully this helps someone else too.
