Why can't insurance companies allow hospitals to be a one-stop shop rather than forcing patients to bounce around from hospital to hospital just to stay in-network? I don't see a way that surprise billing could be eliminated unless the concept of networks is abolished. There will always be loopholes for them to argue that the patient could've stayed in-network. I feel like there's no downside to covering all licensed providers, but I'm not an expert. What do you guys think?
