So I'm 32M, in TX. I qualify for tax credit and I looked on the ACA marketplace. It appears the choices are absurdly skewed in favor of certain silver plans.
This is a silver plan from Molina with $725 OOP. For around the same price you can also buy bronze or gold plans from Molina that have $8550 OOP with $6000 deductible with no coverage on even primary care visits before deductible is met.
Here's a BCBS HMO silver plan that is better in everyway than the gold plan above it for extra $50 a plan.
My questions is: will these plans actually pay out the claims or have any doctors that accept them?
It seems implausible that regular employer sponsored plans have much higher deductible/OOP/coinsurance/copay while these plans cover pretty much everything on paper for such a low cost.
