My opinion on different all natural deodorants that I have tried (and it’s been a lot). For people who sweat a lot!

So, I have very sensitive armpits as well as a slight aluminum allergy, so I’ve been using all natural deodorant for years now.

I have always been a sweaty girl and also we had a heatwave here that lasted over 2 months with temps over 110 F+ every day. It’s always been hard for me to find a deodorant that will last even all day, much less than one that stays good for two days.

The only one that has truly stood up to the test was by Meow. People complain about getting the tube because it is small and relatively expensive $14 USD. However, you can get the jar that is a lot larger for the same amount. There are two scents that have no baking powder (lavender and grapefruit, I believe) and one with baking powder that is tea tree scented. I’ve always been fine with the two without baking powder as my armpits have always been very sensitive to tea tree and baking powder, but if you have tougher pits - I highly recommend the one with baking powder. This is the only deodorant that has lasted a lot of exercise or working hours in the heat.

The second best one I’ve used is The Healthy Deodorant brand, but the Luxe (sports) line. I used this heavily in college before Meow when I was going through dance and Pilates training. It works great and lasts about two days. MAKE SURE IT IS LUXE; I tried the “regular line” and.. it pretty much needed to be changed later in the day.

The third best I’ve tried is the Toms all natural Probiotic deodorant. This one lasted awhile, but recently, after going through about half the stick, I seem to be sweating through it less than the 48 hours I used to be able to go. I don’t know if it’s me or the deodorant itself, but it does go a full day. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t dry clear. It has a white cast.

Here is a list of the ones I’ve tried that were awful.

  1. Type:A in peppermint - It does not hold up to regular sweat, let alone stress sweat. I could put this on right after showering and smell my armpits within two hours afterwards.

  2. Native in Coconut & Vanilla - Lasted maybe half of a day but has a lot of white cast.

  3. Lavanilla (The Healthy Deodorant) in Vanilla - this is the one that I thought was luxe and wasn’t. It lasted about 3/4 of the day, but clumped up and had white cast. Didn’t hold up with heavy sweat. USE LUXE VERSION - IT DOES WORK!

  4. T’eo (by Lush) - This made my armpits break out in a huge painful rash due to how harsh the tea tree is. I’ve heard it also needs to be reapplied throughout the day.

  5. The Guv’ner (Lush) - Also harsh on my armpits, very gritty feeling, and you need to reapply.

  6. Herbal clear sport (recommended at a farmers market type store) - Did not hold up well at all, but does go on without a white cast.

  7. Dr. Teals Magnesium + Shea Butter - It works for maybe a day.
