[Question - other] If health care is a commodity, why is it illegal to sell organs?

You can only donate organs. But when you donate something isn't it a social good you're providing? I doubt the intent of people who donate kidneys ect. are doing so with the intent to profit prove corporations.

But when a donated organ is used by a private company to make a profit, aren't they turning this social good into a private good without the consent of the donors? I don't understand how this could be ethical.

If it were legal to sell organs I could see one justifying health care as a commodity in this regard, for organs would always be private goods and not social goods. But with selling organs being illegal it seems contradictory.
