Hyaluronic acid dried my skin out.

I used hyaluronic acid on my skin, and it ended up drying me out. I asked an esthetician what this means and she said it means my skin is very dry and doesn't have the moisture to hold that water in my skin. Now that I figured out the problem of why hyaluronic acid dried me out, what can i do about this to fix this and to get my skin back to normal and not dry? By the way, I used retin-a and benzoyl peroxide 3 years ago which is what initially caused my dry skin, but have not used it in 2 years. Hyaluronic acid gave me even more dry skin. I used hyaluronic acid more recently.
