Toxic Beauty Documentary

I’ve recently watched this documentary and I feel as though there are some unanswered questions. Mainly it was mostly about lawsuits against Johnson & Johnson due to talc in their baby powder. I had heard years ago that talc was carcinogenic and would avoid purchasing any cosmetics that used the ingredient. My mother was never a user of baby powder so I didn’t grow up using it either.

Another case in the documentary was testing MyMy’s toxins in her body due to the 27 different products she uses everyday. The percentage was really high, especially due to the ratio of how fast our bodies get rid of toxins and how fast we keep putting in/on toxins that are absorbed.

So a few questions I have are how come the beauty/cosmetic industry isn’t regulated as much as other countries are regulated? Why is it a never ending argument that’s always dismissed about regulating these beauty products? Through testing why are the finds not disclosed to the public or even warned until its to late, if at all?

Would it be better for my own health to find handmade products or create them myself? It seems like just about everything is toxic for you.

Furthermore, I feel so bamboozled. I hate how advertisements mess with us psychologically.
