I went to see an allergist back in December. At the time I was on a great health plan where a specialist visit is $50 and everything is covered. So I paid $50, did the testing and agreed to start immunotherapy. Doctor said great they would order the vials and I could start in about a month (January). Fast forward to the first week of January I go and get my first treatment. On my new plan I have a $1,600 deductible (yay!) before my insurance pays 80%. My first treatment was about $70 no big deal. The problem is I also got billed on that day for the vials.
My question is: shouldn't this have been billed in December when they ordered the allergen vials and I agreed to do it instead of the day I got the treatment? Can I ask the doctor's office to bill it for December?
Tl;Dr Should I be billed on the day I signed up for and ordered a particular medicine or the date I first got treated?
