[Question-Insurance] My wife’s (23) father says that she can no longer be covered under his new company’s health insurance because she is married and not a dependent; is this true?

Everything I have read tells me this is incorrect, but he is telling my wife that his HR told him this. My impression is that if his healthcare covers dependents, it will cover any child under 26, regardless of true tax “dependent” status or marriage.
