Dry AND oily skin

I have an issue with dry and oily skin, It's like I have to choose between one or another. I do a clay face mask to deal with the oil and then I end up with dry patches/ flaky skin and then I moisturize to deal with the dry patches and I end up with oily/pimply skin or I do nothing and have flaky oily skin. I just want to find a happy medium and I never can.
