I'm working on making a face scrub. I'm a 23 African American Male. I could just buy one but its more satisfying knowing i could make it...
Whether or not chemicals in mass produced scrubs do harm isn't a concern, i just like it to be as natural as i can get it, plus i've never had much luck using most scrubs.
In the past i've made a mixture of coconut oil, sugar, and honey and had good results. I heard from a woman friend of mine that coconut oil isn't good, nor is sugar. Coconut oil is said to clog pores and she said sugar is rough on the skin.
When using the scrub i never had any problems, maybe it was because i used a warm cloth on my face before and after? Anyways, what are some other good oils that 100% won't cause problems?
For simplicity sake, i'd like to limit my scrub to 3-5 items...Right now i'm thinking:
- An oil to hold everything together
- Honey
- Aloe Vera gel
- Sugar or oats...or grits?
- A touch of lemon juice?
