So I had "free" insurance (called county care) through a state/county program up until the beginning of 2018. I was then told I had made too much money the previous year to still qualify for the free county care. So last January I went on Healthcare.gov and was able to get a plan because I had just lost my insurance so I guess I qualified as a special case.
Fast forward to now. I was supposed to move a couple days ago to California, and since my insurance company didn't operate in California I was going to have to get a new plan. But that was fine because moving to a new state qualifies as a special case. So I was just going to let my current plan end and then get a new one shortly after I got to California. Well, shit happened and I'm not able to make the move just yet. Also I had the option to continue my 2018 plan, but I told them to just cancel it January 1st because my premium literally went up 9x (from $40 to $380/month) and because I didn't think I'd need it. Now, even if I had kept it, I couldn't afford $380/month, that's just insane.
Now I don't have any insurance and am not eligible on Healthcare.gov, so how do I find healthcare? Everything that pops up on google searches just leads to Healthcare.gov
