All my life, ibuprofen has done absolutely nothing for me, at least pain wise. I don't take it.
Acetaminophen has always worked like magical star dust.
Recently I switched to naproxen for cramps and non-migraines (tension headaches) and it seems to work. Not always as fast or as complete as acetaminophen, but the pain is managed sufficiently.
The doctor seemed skeptical that ibuprofen won't work if naproxen does because they're in the same class/family. I didn't know what to say because that has been my experience. My question is, is my experience even possible? I can't figure it out from my research and I'm wondering if its all just a "power of suggestion" type thing.
