My employer is considered to be a large employer and they are a self pay insurer for healthcare. I'm scheduled for bariatric surgery next month. My company is based in NY and I'm in North Carolina.
The plan documents put a lifetime limit on bariatric treatment of $5000. Though from what I'm seeing about the affordable Care act, They cannot enforce that, even in self pay plans for large employers if they cover a procedure?
It's so confusing.
