Prescribing medication over the phone

Hi there! So recently I’ve been prescribed fraxiparine over the phone by a doctor as a prevention for a long flight. I’ve been diagnosed with Leiden mutation this winter so I’ve never used this drug before. Do you think it’s ok that she prescribed it without even seeing me? I dont want to bitch about this doctor but as a medical students it gets me thinking whether i would do something like that in the future.
