Are there statistics on the number of Americans who will go uninsured EVER in their lifetime? And why isn't this the key political statistic in the healthcare debate?

I see both sides constantly trumpeting statistics about the current number of insured or uninsured. The real benefit of universal healthcare isn't the number of people currently covered, it's that it provides access to all Americans "forever".

I've done some research, but every study, whether neutral/democratic/republican only advertises statistics on the currently insured. Does anyone know the statistics on the number of Americans who will EVER go without health insurance, even once, in their lifetime?

As much as I may want universal healthcare because it will provide healthcare for everyone, I also want it because that means that I never have to worry about losing my healthcare.
