Hello all! I have been using an acne spot treatment for years that works wonders and I haven't found this recipe anywhere else. I assembled it out of components I had in my pantry one day and discovered that it is a life saver! I have since shared it with friends and family, and discovered ways to tweak it for different skin types. Without further ado, here it is:
For Sensitive Skin: 1.5 tsp rose clay 1 drop rosemary essential oil 1 drop lavender essential oil
For Normal Skin: 1-1.5 tsp clay of your choice 1 drop lavender essential oil 1 drop tea tree essential oil
For tough or oily skin: 1-1.5 tsp bentonite clay 1 drop rosemary essential oil 1 drop tea tree essential oil
Assembly: Drop oils into a small bowl (not metal). Add a little bit of water and whisk the oils and water together (I use a chopstick for this). Stir in clay. Add more water as necessary, until the mixture becomes a thick paste. If you want the treatment to be super potent, you can use witch hazel in place of the water, but be warned, that is STRONG. Apply to spots and leave on for as long as you want! I usually leave it on while I am working at home. If you feel any irritation, take it off if it doesn't go away after a minute and add more clay and water.
Hope you enjoy! I find that this treatment does a phenomenal job drying out spots.
Note: because of its strong drying properties, you may experience flaking on the spots you apply it. I would not recommend that you apply this treatment to the whole face; it is far too concentrated. If you do wish to apply it to your face, add more clay and a few drops of a moisturizing oil of your choice.
