I am a 19yo female with 153 height(5 feet, 0.2362 inches) and 46kg weight (101lbs). I've been on the pill for more than a year, and recently, unfortunately i started smoking. The cigarette I smoke has 0.8mg nicotine. However, I only smoke 1-2, or on extreme circumstances, 3 cigarettes a day. Is it okay this way if I don't smoke more, or 1-2 cigarette is dangerous too?

[Question - Insurance]

Let me just start by saying I know nothing about the healthcare system. My mom just got a job and is setting up her health insurance. For both my sister (23) and I (19) to be added onto it, it would cost my mom an extra $10,000 a year. I’m trying to get a new full time job that offers health insurance but from what I know my sister is not and in the next few years she could potentially need a surgery on her knee and she has some learning disabilities that really limit her options for a job. I’m aware there are some out there that would work for her, she’s just not found them yet. But my question, we both file as independents so from what I understand that would mean when applying for health insurance it would be a household of 1? And are there any possibilities to where we could be eligible for any type of discounted insurance and how would I go about finding it?

[Other] Medicare already pays for half of your health expenses

Medicare was created because seniors couldn't buy health insurance; it cost them 3 times as much as young people were paying to get any kind of coverage. Roughly 46% of a person's lifetime medical costs are incurred after the age of 65. Somehow we are supporting that with a 2.9% income tax, that we split with our employer.

Once more for the people wondering where the UHC money will come from: We are already paying half our own lifetime medical costs with a 2.9% income tax.
