Hi All,
I am going to get an echocardiogram this week for a routine checkup. I have to get these every 3-4 years and in the past don't even recall getting a bill for it. Today, I just got a email saying the bill AFTER insurance will be over $1500!!! This is essentially just an ultrasound on my heart, I will be in and out within 15 minutes! It just seems insane that it could be this much. I have decent insurance but they are only covering $700 of the $2300 original bill. Is this normal? Will asking for an itemized receipt decrease this amount? I'm not in desperation mode for the funds I just want to make sure this is accurate before paying such a big price for a simple test.
Thanks in advance
