How do I handle the healthcare system in the US while I’m visiting?

I’m going to be in California for three months this winter, visiting from Canada. I just found out I’m pregnant and I’ll need my first three doctors appointments during the time I’m in the US. should I be getting insurance for the three months? Should I just fly home three times? I’m worried about exorbitant costs and this kind of visit isn’t covered by travel insurance.
