I'm a resident of Florida, but working in Maine for the season. None of the ACA plans (healthcare.gov) available for Florida cover anything out-of-state (everything except emergency room visits are "out of network"). I've been told to re-register in Maine (CoverME.gov). Maine doesn't have the ~$650/month tax incentive that healthcare.gov offers me, so I have to pay full-rate and the lowest available plan starts at $780/month.
I make $100/day as a manual laborer with no healthcare benefits.
How is it possible to survive in this country? Do I just forego health insurance and hope that I don't have anything catastrophic occur? I don't see any other option.
