[Question - Insurance] How do I make sure my labor and delivery are covered?

In 2016 I had surgery. While my doctor and the hospital were in network, I was hit with a $4,000 bill because the anesthesiologist was not in network. I had no control over the person that did my anesthesia, but I lost the appeal with my insurance and am still in the process of paying off that debt. Now I’m about to have a baby and am really scared the same thing is going to happen again, but potentially even worse. Is there any way to avoid this? How can I possibly find out and verify every provider who might have to work on me? Is that even a thing?
