[Question- Insurance] help with first health plan

Hello, thank for in advance for taking the time to read this and for any advice you can give. As a child and teenager I was always on my parents employee- sponsored health insurance plan and never used it. I moved out when I was 18 and qualified for Medicaid for two years, almost never used it. Afterwards I was covered under my husbands insurance plan for another two years, which we only used but once for my husband to see a pcp. We moved states at the end of last year and his new company is small and does not offer health insurance and I work part time so I also do not qualify from my job so this year we were uninsured. By the time we thought to look into a marketplace plan the open enrollment period was long over. I definitely don’t want to go another year uninsured because I had s visit to the ER this year that put me in debt. I’ve had all sorts of reasons to go to the dr this year despite the fact that I never used my insurance when I had it (oh the irony). Of course we are going to Look for a marketplaceplan this year. I hope we qualify for some tax break (we don’t qualify for Medicaid) I was wondering if you could give any advice on good plans or a price range to look for? Or maybe specifically things to look for in a plan? We don’t have any serious health conditions, but like I mentioned I’ve been seeing the doctor and having diagnostics done much more often and I don’t want to be stuck with a huge bill if god forbid , one of us should have to go to the emergency room or urgent care again. But at the same time, as I’m sure you can imagine , I don’t want half my check to go towards it. How do I find good balance? Thanks for your help!
