I know someone who is planning on investing money in some company that helps her own her own business that helps people find the right LTC placement. She says it's similar to A Place For Mom but it differs in that the doctors' offices will refer their patients to her. I'm in healthcare but I work inpatient so I don't know what I'm talking about with this but feel like it sounds like a scam. She has no healthcare experience or knowledge of LTC whatsoever, but she says that she's going to pay this company to teach her how to do this and that's all she needs to be qualified for this role. Maybe this is common and I am just ignorant of how this is handled outpatient.
Has anyone had any experience with this type of company? Do any of you refer patients in the outpatient setting to companies like this when they need to find LTC placement?
