Have anyone seen this lecture at Karolinska about the risk and efficacy regarding antidepressants. The lecture has many studies from example NIMH and qoutes from lead psychiatry researchers. Whitaker raise very important questions regarding safety and usefulness.
A recommended watch if you consider starting or stopping or staying on.
Whitaker Also mentions PSSD (r/pssd), that is being more and more known for users of these drugs. I let him present the Data and not say anything more, but it Seems like the paradigm of care with introducing SSRI’s in a country leads to more chronic depression and disability rates. I am not saying this. He is not saying this. He just presents the data. Treating depression may be more harmful than good with today’s paradigm with SSRI’s as first line-treatment.
I think lectures/data/journalism like this is crucial to show both clinicians and patients.
