You'd usually get an email when you receive a message in your secure patient portal account, then you'd have to then go on the website and log in to read, but I generally don't like the two-step process.
I'm also not a fan of downloading apps either, although I like the instant push notifications and quick access allowed by fingerprint and facial recognition login.
I like SMS texting but it's not secure.
