I hate to ask for anything on the internet but I'm out of options. Thank you very much in advance.
I'm a type 1 diabetic and I am insulin-dependent. Especially so. For the past 2 or 3 years I have had insurance through Indiana. It's called Managed Health Services(MHS) and I get it through the state's program Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP). Or maybe that's backwards, sorry.
Every month I pick up my insulin and sometimes there are problems but it usually works out easily. However this time it has been over 2 weeks and I cannot pick up my insulin. The pharmacy says MHS won't pay for it because I have another health insurance. But I don't, and I haven't. Not for years. I certainly haven't paid for anything.
I've called MHS who told me to call something called Third Party Liability. They said it would be taken care of in 3 hours and the next day nothing happened. I called my previous insurance to make sure I did not have a policy with them (which I confirmed), I called MHS's pharmacy team who said they'd take care of it or refer it to third party liability, and I called third party liability (lets call it TPL) who again said they'd take care of it in 3 or 4 hours. I've made probably 12 calls to MHS customer help desk, 3 calls to my old insurance (tri-care), 3 calls to TPL, and litterally over the past two weeks I have made 40 calls to my pharmacy. They KNOW me now.
What do I do? TLP is the only one taking responsibility for this and they keep telling me it will be taken care of. I do not have a job that will give me health care so this is all I can afford.
I forgot to mention: I called TPL on Friday the 7th and they said it was ALREADY taken off. I am on a 0-10 carb per day diet in an attempt to prolong what little insulin I have left.
10:22 central time on September 8th the pharmacy still cannot fill the prescription. Very stressed lol
