Hi all! So last year, I purchased healthcare through Healthcare.gov. I was covered all year long (January 1-December 31) and never missed a payment or was late to make a payment.
I logged into my Healthcare.gov account and it said "cancelled" under 2016. I never cancelled my health insurance. So I call my health insurance provider directly and they confirmed to me I was covered all year long. I then called Healthcare.gov because I need them to send my 1095-A form and they won't be sending it if they think I didn't have health insurance. They told me to call my health insurance company again.
I called my health insurance company and the lady told me she was going to bring on a Healthcare.gov rep on a 3-way call. The lady confirmed to the healthcare.gov rep that I DID have insurance all year long and never missed a payment. Then, Healthcare.gov rep she would submit this case to their 'escalation' department so they can 'investigate' this even more to confirm I had insurance. I even offered my debit card statements to prove I was a member if that wasn't enough.
Anyways, I have been waiting for 2 weeks for this to be resolved and I just called Healthcare.gov to get an update on my case and the rep said they haven't even gotten to mine yet. I told him to try to speed it up and he said there was nothing he can do to make the process faster. The health insurance company rep ALREADY CONFIRMED to Healthcare.gov that I was a member all year, so I have absolutely no idea why this is a huge process.
I came here to ask you guys for ideas. What to do here? I have to file my taxes by March 15 (I own a business) and I have a feeling this crap is going to linger. It's bullshit too because I shouldn't have to deal with this since I never ever cancelled my health care... I have NO idea why there website says I cancelled. Huge glitch on their end I guess.
Have any of you been in this situation before? How long did it take for them to resolve your ticket in the escalation department? Thanks.

Right now I'm with Staywell as a Medicaid provider or plan or whatever it's called. I tried looking this up but it's very confusing and I haven't learned the terms very well. I need to have a procedure done with a certain doctor, but he only takes a special -plan from Blue Cross Blue Shield or something like that (I apologize for being so vague and general). How would I go about changing from Staywell to a plan under Medicaid that would help me get seen by this doctor? I know that the "free-for-all" period where you can freely change plans is around July, but I need this treatment now. Is there any way of switching to another plan?

I'm a 32 year old man with a generally healthy lifestyle - frequent exercise, healthy largely-plant-based diet, no serious chronic health issues. I know, however, that quite often healthy-seeming people have unexpected health issues. Until recently, I've just assumed that living healthily would make any sorts of physicals or screenings irrelevant. Edit: If relevant, my family history as I'm aware has a fair amount of prostate cancer, depression, and bipolar disorder; as well as a smaller amount of strokes and heart failure (and other non- or less-recurring diseases). I'm not sure to what extent family history should affect one's approach to health care.
